Cuba is a unique and beautiful island wrapped in a 1950's time warp. Its how the pace of life used to be. But now is definitely the right time to see it before tourism changes the lives of its inhabitants.

The legal situation for visiting Cuba:

Only the following groups of US citizens are allowed to fly direct to Cuba:

Journalists, Charity Workers, Cuban Americans, Religious groups, Educational tours.

And the other US citizens?

The best way to fly to Cuba is from Europe, Mexico via Cancun or Mexico city, Canada etc. where there are no US customs. Travel agencies can arrange flights to Cuba as well as providing you with a visa to enter Cuba.

 Cuban officials do NOT stamp your passport at the airport. Instead, they stamp a separate piece of paper which you can throw away after the trip.

 Americans cannot use credit cards or travellers cheques in Cuba drawn upon an American bank. All transactions must be done in cash.
